50:365 Richard...

... died far too young. Official verdict was death by drowning. The unofficial verdict included the fatally cataclysmic heart defect. His death ended our regular tennis 'tournaments' and left an eternally sad imprint on my heart...

I often think of Richard. My main memories are from the skiing trip. He had terrible runs.
I'll never forget being told about his death during afternoon registration.
Mr Hine always looked stern, and that evening he just looked sad.
Tamzin just cried, after all, they'd had a thing for some time.
My thoughts immediately went to Gemima, who I now know also had a thing with him at Fitzherbert and of course his friends Martin and Nicky.
For some reason I always think of Richard talking about his cable TV.
I didn't realise he had a heart defect.
